SUPERIOR AICONSULTING

AI integration for small businesses

Put AI to work in your business in the next 90 days.

Practical, hands-on help for owners who are short on time, short on staff, and unsure which AI tools are worth the money.

Sound familiar?

AI moves faster than a small business can.

Owners tell me the same three things. None of them are about the technology.

Too many tools, too little time

New AI products show up every week. You don't have the hours to test them, and you worry about missing the one that matters.

No one to set it up

There's no IT department, and hiring an AI specialist isn't in the budget. The trial accounts sit unused.

No proof it's working

You've tried a few things, but you can't say whether they saved time or brought in business.

Where AI pays off first

We start with the routine work that eats your week, in the three places most small businesses feel it.

Marketing and sales

  • On-brand posts, emails, and web copy in a fraction of the time
  • Faster follow-up on leads
  • Simple tracking of what brings in customers

People and HR

  • Clear job postings and interview guides
  • Onboarding checklists and training materials
  • First drafts of policies and handbooks for your review

Finance and operations

  • A plain-English monthly summary of your numbers
  • Routine documents, quotes, and reports
  • Standard procedures written down once, used every time

How ready is your business for AI?

Rate each statement from 1 (not at all) to 5 (fully true). You'll get a readiness score and the areas to look at first. Nothing is saved or sent anywhere.

1.I know which three tasks eat the most time in my business each week.
2.My team has tried at least one AI tool for real work, not just for fun.
3.Someone on my team is comfortable learning new software.
4.Our customer information lives in one place we can search easily.
5.We follow up with new leads within one business day.
6.Our routine procedures, such as onboarding, quotes, and invoicing, are written down.
7.I can see how the business is doing each month without building a report by hand.
8.I know which information should never go into an outside AI tool.
9.We track at least one number that shows whether marketing is working.
10.I could spare two to three hours a week for 90 days to set up something new.

Four ways to work together

Start with the audit. Everything else builds from what we learn there, and if you go on to the Sprint, the audit fee comes off the price.

Start here

AI Readiness Audit

One working session on your business as it runs today. You leave with a short written plan: where AI can save you time, which tools fit your budget, and what to do first.

Book the audit →

$495 · Credited in full toward the 90-Day Sprint if you start within 60 days
Referred by an SBDC, incubator, or chamber? Take $200 off, so your audit is $295.

Hands-on integration

90-Day Sprint

We pick one or two workflows, set up the tools with you, build the templates, and train your team to run them. We agree on one measurable target on day one, such as hours saved each week or qualified leads each month, and check it at day ninety.

Ninety days · Scoped and priced after the audit

Stay current

Weekly Group Coaching

A standing hour on Zoom with other owners working through the same questions. What's new, what's working, and what you can safely ignore. You also get peers who are a step ahead or a step behind.

Tools and community

Partner Portal

Ready-to-use templates, prompt libraries, and short how-to guides, updated as the tools change, plus a community of owners putting AI to work.

$495 per year · or $50 per month

How it works

Three steps, in order. You can stop after any of them.

Audit

Find the one or two changes that will pay off fastest in your business.

Sprint

Build them into the way your team already works, with a target we can measure.

Keep current

Group coaching and the portal keep you from falling behind as the tools change.

What you can count on

Three commitments

  • Augment, don't replace. AI takes the routine work so your people can do the work only they can do.
  • Measure it. We note where you start, so at the end you can see what changed in hours, leads, or turnaround time.
  • Build it in-house. Your team owns the workflows when we're done. You shouldn't need me forever.

About Superior AI Consulting

I'm Thomas J. Norman, Ph.D., a professor of management at California State University, Dominguez Hills. I teach management, human resources, compensation, and labor relations, and I've served as department chair and acting associate dean. I'm also the faculty founder of the university's Innovation Incubator.

Superior AI Consulting grew out of the National Science Foundation's I-Corps program at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Through it, I interviewed small-business owners and marketing leaders about what they need from AI. Their answer was consistent: less hype, more hands-on help, and proof that it paid off. The four services above are built on those conversations.

My next book, Judgment Call, is about management judgment in the AI transition. This practice is where that research meets a real business.

Why "Superior"? I was born in Duluth and grew up in northwestern Wisconsin, near Lake Superior. The name is a nod to home, and a standard for the work.

Start with the audit

The booking form takes about five minutes and asks about your business and the work that eats your week, so our hour starts in the right place. The audit is $495, credited toward the Sprint, with $200 off for an SBDC, incubator, or chamber referral. If AI isn't the right fix for what you're facing, I'll tell you that too. Prefer email? Write to me directly.
